Connect TIVRA to Trakt
Trakt.tv tracks what you watch across every device. Connect a Trakt account to TIVRA and your Continue Watching row syncs everywhere — start a movie on TIVRA, finish it on your phone (or vice versa). You also get personalized Trending / Recommended / Upcoming rows on the home page based on your Trakt activity.
Trakt is optional. If you don't connect, TIVRA uses local watch history (just on this device).
Getting a Trakt account
- Go to trakt.tv in a browser on any device.
- Sign up free (or sign in if you already have one). The free tier is more than enough for TIVRA — no need to upgrade to VIP.
Connect TIVRA to your Trakt account
- In TIVRA, go to Settings › Trakt.
- Tap Connect. A dialog pops up with a code and a URL — e.g.
https://trakt.tv/activateandABC12345. - On your phone or computer, go to that URL. Sign in to Trakt if you aren't already.
- Enter the 8-character code. Trakt asks you to authorize TIVRA — click Yes.
- Back in TIVRA, the dialog auto-closes when the connection completes (usually within a few seconds). The Trakt section now shows your Trakt username + a Disconnect button.
What syncs after connecting
- Movies + series episodes you play get scrobbled to Trakt as you watch. Plays past the 80% mark are marked watched in your Trakt history.
- Continue Watching on the home page now pulls from Trakt's
/sync/playback. Cross-device: a movie you paused on your phone shows up here, and vice versa. - Home page rows:
- Recommended for You — Trakt's personalized recs intersected with your IPTV provider's catalog.
- Upcoming This Week — episodes of shows you're tracking that air this week.
- Trending Now (Movies + Series) — Trakt's global trending feed.
First-time history push
The first time you connect, TIVRA pushes your local watch history (anything you've already played on this device) up to Trakt as a one-time sync. So if you've been using TIVRA for a while, your existing Continue Watching items appear in Trakt right away.
Live TV is not scrobbled
Trakt is for VOD content (movies + series episodes) only. Live channels aren't scrobbled — Trakt doesn't have a model for live-channel viewing.
What doesn't sync (yet)
- Watchlist — Trakt's watchlist isn't surfaced in TIVRA yet. Queued for a future release.
- Ratings — same. You can rate on Trakt's web/app, just not from TIVRA.
- Hidden shows — Trakt's "hide" lists aren't honored. Trending rows show globally trending shows even if you've hidden them on Trakt.
Disconnect
- Settings › Trakt › Disconnect Trakt.
- TIVRA forgets the access token. Continue Watching falls back to local watch history.
- The Trakt website doesn't get notified — if you want to fully revoke TIVRA's access on Trakt's side too, go to trakt.tv/settings/apps and revoke from there.
Troubleshooting
"Trakt integration is disabled in this build"
You're on a build that didn't have the Trakt API keys baked in. Download the latest APK from tivratv.com.
Continue Watching shows nothing after connecting
- If you've never watched anything on Trakt, it'll be empty until you watch your first movie. Play any movie for ~30 seconds → exit → home page should populate.
- If you have Trakt history but the row is empty, the items may not match your IPTV provider's catalog (e.g. you watched a movie on Trakt that your provider doesn't carry).
Item shows 0% watched but I'm an hour in
Your provider's catalog list endpoint doesn't include duration metadata for that movie. TIVRA falls back to Trakt's reported percentage — should display correctly. If it still reads 0%, force-refresh by playing the movie for a few seconds and exiting.
Disconnected but movies still scrobble
Restart the app — the auth state caches in memory and clears on next launch.
